From Nursery to Market: The Palm Oil Process

Setup your Workspace

Pre-germinated seeds are sourced from ASD Costa Rica and planted in June. The pre-nursery has a capacity of 120,000 seedlings, with a culling rate of 10–15%, and the stage lasts for about 4–5 months.

Main Nursery

The nursery has a capacity of 204,000 seedlings, with a culling rate of 25–30%, and the plants remain for 18–20 months before transplanting.

Plantation

The plantation is profiled in blocks according to the year of planting and variety. Its primary output is Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB), with the first fruits harvested 4–5 years after planting, ahead of the start of full commercial production.

Oil Extraction Mill

Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) are processed into Crude Palm Oil (CPO) at an Oil Extraction Rate (OER) of 20%. The extraction takes place at the factory mill through a series of stages that include reception and weighing, cooking, stripping, digesting, pressing, clarification, drying, storage, and quality assurance

Selling

The Crude Palm Oil (CPO) is sold in the domestic market.
